Palazzo Baldi
Located in the Pantera Contrada, our historic palace boasts a unique and fascinating heritage.
Careful research carried out in Siena’s historical archives has revealed that, as early as the time of Duccio di Buoninsegna, a street lined with houses and workshops began at the arches of the Due Porte—one of the original entrances to the city within its first ring of walls. Centuries later, this street became known as Via di Stalloreggi, the very street where Palazzo Baldi stands today.
Over the centuries, the building has undergone several renovations and restorations, sometimes at the expense of traces of its ancient communal life. Yet throughout the apartments and suites, the marks left by the passing of time have been carefully preserved.
It is always moving to reflect on how much life has unfolded before us—centuries and millennia filled with joy, suffering, love, betrayal, hard work and the many expressions of human nature.
